Microsoft kommendes Visual Studio 11 nur noch für Metro kostenlos
Microsoft hat die nächste und damit 11 Generation vom Visual Studio angekündigt, dabei wurde bekannt das die Express Versionen nur noch zum Erstellen von Metro Apps kostenlos sind. Zum erstellen herkömmliche Applikationen, Consolenprogrammen usw. benötigt man ab sofort eine kostenpflichtige Version, oder muss bei den jetzt noch aktuellen Versionen bleiben. Neu ist auch das es eine expliziete Windows Phone Version vom Visual Studio Express geben wird.
Neben der Visual Studio 11 Express for Metro Apps wird es eine zweite kostenlose Version geben – Visual Studio Express for Web mit der man HTML/JS/CSS3 Code erzeugen kann.
Zeitgleich zur Ankündigung stellt Microsoft eine Beta zum Download bereit, diese ist auf der Visual Studio 11 Seite verfügbar. Visual Studio setzt min. ein Windows 7 Version voraus und ansonsten sind die Anforderungen an die Hardware identisch mit denen von Visual Studio 10. Unterschiede zwischen den einzelnen Versionen kann man auf der dafür eingerichteten Visual Studio Seite nachlesen
Ich verstehe den Text etwas anders. Mit der Express Edition für Windows kann man weiterhin normale Windows Programme erstellen. Es gibt nur in der Version 11 keine spezifischen Express Versionen für C# und Vb mehr. Die Express Version für Windows 8 enthält alle Sprachen und die Möglichkeit sowohl Desktop, als auch Metro Anwendungen zu schreiben.
Zumindest was die Express Editionen(Kostenlos) angeht steht dort recht eindeutig man möge doch mit der 2010’er Edition vorlieb nehmen

Message is actually the same, words are less direct.
I can’t understand why you do not plan to release an Express version
that is able to build desktop apps. That sounds crazy to me. All the
open source developers that enjoy building apps for Windows won’t
magically start creating metro application because your VS11 Express
can’t build desktop ones.
What will happen is that people will continue to use 2010 for the
eternity, and won’t get the benefits of the new version. Sounds like a
terrible idea to me, you’re doing it wrong (again) with the Windows 8
stuff. Developers used to like your products because the development
experience used to be great with Windows. But here you’re just punching
developers in the face.
C’mon, release an Express version of VS11 that only targets desktop app.
One for Metro, one for Windows Phone, one for the web, one for Azure, one for Desktop. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.”
Eine explizite Windows Phone Version gab es schon vorher 😉
Ich hoffe, dass sie da nochmal was ändern, im Moment bekomme ich die Professional zwar über Dreamspark kostenlos, aber wenn ich nicht mehr zur Schule gehe und auch nicht mehr studiere sieht das anders aus. Das wäre echt ein RIESEN Fehler.
